A powerful fusion of political messaging and iconic street art aesthetics, Shepard Faireys MAKE ART NOT WAR transforms a timeless anti-war sentiment into a bold visual statement. Created during the Iraq War, the print reinterprets the 1960s mantra Make love, not war, shifting its focus toward the necessity of creative expression over destruction. Framed in an Art Nouveau-inspired floral garland, the central female figure feels grounded and self-possessed, while layered symbolismincluding paintbrushes resembling spears and the commanding OBEY at her neckadds tension and depth to the works message. The result is a visually striking piece that bridges historical protest art with contemporary cultural critique.
